Spring is here!

I've been looking forward to writing this post all morning! I love Spring, I love love love it. I love the longer days, the lambs, the colours, the pretty flowers every where, the peonies starting to grow in our garden and most importantly, Spring means sunshine, which means photos!! Hurray!

Though this year has been a bit pants so far in terms of weather in the UK - in fact, its been the worst Spring for a long time, its still cold enough to be wearing hats and scarves today and I've barely taken any photos. So instead, I'm using this post to share some of my favourite Spring photos that I have taken over the last few years. I've probably enjoyed putting these together more than you'll enjoy looking at them, haha.

I can't wait for it to be really sunny so that I can go out and take more photos now.

p.s. If you're new here, hi!! I'd forgotten what it felt like to 'put yourself out there' in the blog world, so I'm really excited to be taking part in BEDM and making new blog friends.

Spring is in the air...

Hurray and finally! Though today is actually cold and foggy, but still, Spring is definitely coming.

These were taken with my new to me Zenit-B and I'm totally and utterly in love with them!! And the camera, gosh that camera... You have no idea how relieved I was to see that this first roll worked with it as I absolutely loved carrying that camera around with me and using it was a dream - it sounds amazing, it feels amazing, the lens is beautiful (see that light?!) oh boy... I haven't been this excited about a camera since I got my LC-A... I'm even more excited about it after seeing the photos that Tanit has take with her ZenitB too - I think this camera has amazing potential!

(Our first snowdrop)

That last photo... I have no words for how happy I am with it - it might have made me cry a little when I first saw it as I was so happy the camera worked, and the yellow is so beautiful, and daffodils are my favourite. I think its as close to perfect in a photo that I've ever been... hurray!

Spring in Leeds...

I was hoping to have some colour photos to share with you today but my usual photo lab wouldn't cross process my slide film for me yesterday (cue panic and sadness from me) but hopefully I should get that film developed soon and I'll have some colour on here! I did however get another diana mini, black and white roll developed yesterday, finally and I don't think you'll mind these photos so much. I'm completely smitten with them myself.

Honestly, I think that last photo may be my favourite that I've ever taken!

Funny story - I went to take that photo and Thomas moved his hand in to touch the blossom and I thought - urgh, he always gets in the way of my photos - then I realised that actually it was beautiful just as he moved his hand away, so I bullied him into doing again haha and managed to actually get a rather amazing photo... So there you go, sometimes it's ok to restage photos and sometimes it's ok to let your boyfriends into your photos.

p.s. Happy Birthday Grandad!!! I would have written you a whole post but its not your big birthday until next year and I might have something fun already planned for that :) I hope you have a great day, I love you x

12 for 2012 - Camera 3

As part of my 'take more photos' goal for this year - I decided that I wanted to use more of the cameras that I haven't actually used before in my collection. I'll admit that March's camera nearly didn't happen... I had an idea to use one of my unused 35mm cameras, but the month flew by and it got to last weekend and I realised... oops, it's 31st of March.

Luckily for me, earlier in March the Impossible Project film and polaroid camera that I won from One Pearl Button arrived (Thank you so much again Alli!) and I decided that March was the month to try it!

Rather than using the camera that arrived with the film (I think I'll pop the B&W film in there) I decided to try out the first polaroid camera that Thomas found for me in 2009, I remember being so excited about it at the time so it seems unbelievable to me that I still haven't used it...

Overall, I'm undecided on these photos... I love polaroids but I think that I love otherphotographerspolaroidresults more than I ever like my own. How do they do it?! These results to me look really green (and I'm not a fan of green in photos) and I am still disappointed by the undeveloped patches (apparently a known problem to The Impossible Project but still...) especially in that last photo, there should have been a beautiful blossom tree there.

Perhaps I'll get the hang of them eventually. Or perhaps I'll leave it to the more patient experts...
