Our newest toy...

My Dad is one of my favourite people in the whole world so really he didn't have to give lend me his old camera as I would still love him, but boy I am glad that he did!!

So here it is our new (old) camera to play with: An Olympus OM10 SLR camera from 1979 - this camera is older than me!

(sorry this isn't a great picture)

I'm really surprised I haven't blogged about this sooner as I am completely in love with this camera: I love how it looks, how heavy it is, how the dials make little noises when you turn them and the fact there is still half a film in there from who knows when - I'm so excited to finish the roll and see what the photos are!

p.s. Sorry this isnt a post about our weekend - Gee still has the photos :)

p.s.s. The wonderful Cassie is promising a giveaway at 100 followers and she only has 14 more to go. As one of the lovely ladies featured on Diamond in the Rough you know that you want to follow her! x

Things I've learnt from blogs this week... and a day off!

Yeay so its finally Friday and I am not at work today - in fact I'm not even at the computer right now :) hopefully I am in Ikea stocking up on christmas items, or maybe even bowling or eating some amazing food, huzzah!!

You see two of my best friends (mentioned here and here) are coming up to visit for a long weekend so we are having an action packed, fun filled, ikea visiting, karaoke singing, long weekend with them!! Woo!! Expect some fun pictures next week (I hope!)

  1. Plates really are pretty and fun.
  2. Did you know Anna Faris has pugs? And they are adorable!
  3. Next halloween I am making these - with faces carved in
  4. Someone else had already done this... I'm going to do it anyway!
  5. Some more pretty yellow pictures...

I hope you all have wonderful, fun weekends! See you next week!

Tags and Awards!

{Are these the same thing? Probably... Either way I love getting them and sharing the love!}

First up I have been awarded the Fabulous Sugar Doll Blogger Award (what a great name) from Rebecca at Daydreams in Lace - a fellow UK blogger - Thanks Rebecca! Check out her lovely blog. I have to pass it on and tell you ten things about myself

I have also been tagged by Sanchez from The Inky Finger Files to list 7 things about myself. As well as being the inspiration behind my Who I am... post, Sanchez also has a collection of other bloggers Who I am posts in her sidebar - you should definitely check them out too!

So here are the 10 facts about me:
  1. I used to bite my nails really badly but someone recommended OPI Nail Envy to me and I have had long nails for 3 years now - I'm proud of this!
  2. I love wearing socks - even in the summer - I like having warm feet.
  3. I hardly ever wear skirts.
  4. I used to wish I wore them more but I like my jeans too much.
  5. I'm allergic to most fish.
  6. I am addicted to risotto at the moment - I eat it everywhere.
  7. I love catching up with Twitter in the morning (I'm so sad!)
  8. I secretly fancy Alexander Skarsgård (Eric from True Blood) he's not even really my type, but oh my, he is yummy (and I just found out he went to Uni in Leeds?!)
  9. I like being busy and having alot to do.
  10. I can be quite bossy.

So there we go, I would have done 17 facts but I always feel like I'm repeating myself or I'm running out of interesting things to say... so 10 it is....

and I'm going to pass the award onto these fabulous bloggers!
P.S. Hello to my latest followers: Thegirlcalledbo, Hello Sweet World, O'Reilly Ink and Rachael - Sorry I haven't looked at your blogs yet, I will soon I promise (in fact that goes to everyone who follows me and has commented recently - I'm a bit behind, sorry!)

Diamond in the Rough...

I am over the moon to now be part of the Diamond in the Rough team!!

Today is my first post on Diamonds featuring the amazing Wendy from Red Boots - so go have a look at her profile and beautiful guest post, I promise you won't be dissapointed!

So... now I need your help - although I read alot of blogs...
I would love it if you could recommend me some more to check out.

The idea of Diamonds is to highlight the undiscovered gems in the blogosphere so if you have any favourites that post frequently with amazing content that makes you keep going back for more and of course they are courteous bloggers who comment back (very important) then quick, let me know... now... please...
(though please don't recommend your own blog - chances are if you follow my blog then I already follow yours and I always check out every person who comments on my blog anyway...)

Thank you in advance, you are all wonderful for sticking with me! I can't wait to see any blogs you recommend!
