365/2013 11-19

I've actually found this project to be quite hard... although I've been trying not to put too much pressure on myself to get a certain type of photo, picking just one photo for the day is actually quite difficult. I'm hoping that I'll get the hang of exactly what it is I'm looking for as the year goes along.

I am a little bit amazed that its the 22nd of January already though - this month has flown by!

365 11-19

11. The 11th was a bit of a slow day but dinner was delicious - chilli stuffed aubergine with cheese and jalapeños.
12. Looking around Leeds Art Gallery with Thomas's brother who came to visit.
13. As part of my word of the year 'alleviate' I've been slowly sorting through my things. Here I finally organised some of my books and cameras in our bedroom.
14. Snow! The start of lots of snow photos :)
15. Learning to crochet doilies. (I could quite easily make every day a crochet photo it seems)
16. I got two films developed from my parents house last week, they were both about 14 years old! So heres a photo of me with one of my high school projects. I was pretty pleased with that dog toy.
17. Waiting for the bus in light snow.
18. Curled up at home with a blanket playing Mahjong... bliss.
19. Afternoon tea with Clare... it wasn't as tasty as it looks unfortunately, but I always enjoy spending time with Clare :)

p.s. I've updated the Films I Use page to include all the film that I've ever used, its a bit crazy now with nearly 25, but it looks much better and more organised. Have a look if you're interested.

More snow photos...

If you read lots of UK blogs, then you've probably already seen loads of snow photos, but this morning was so glorious, I have to share these from my phone. I can't remember the last time I actually enjoyed my walk to work so much, the snow just makes everything look stunning. As well as photos on my phone, I took a whole roll of film too - I can't wait to get those developed.

If you follow me on Instagram, then you've probably already seen these, sorry... they are pretty though aren't they.

p.s. I didn't draw the heart, I saw it on the way to work, someone is enjoying the snow :)

p.p.s. These were edited with the newer 'Willow' filter on Instagram, have you tried it? I like it.

Snoooow!

After a weekend of waiting to see if it would snow, it finally did on Sunday night. It only lasted for a day, in fact Leeds got lucky, my parents got 5 inches of snow yesterday in Norwich whilst the snow here is practically all gone.

I did bring my OM-10 with me yesterday morning on my walk to work but I forgot to check the batteries on it (batteries in cameras?! I'm totally not used to that haha) so I used my LC-A instead and finally finished a roll of film that I started last year (only two weeks ago really) woohoo. I also managed to snap a few shots on my phone too. I can't decide if I want it to snow again, so I can use the OM-10, or if this one batch was more than enough.

365 / 2013 1-10

This year I decided to start a 365 project. I've been thinking about it for a while and it took me ages to decide on how to do it. In the end I decided just to use my phone. I wanted to do a film one, but during the week my days are pretty dull and most of my photos are taken in the evening where I wouldn't really be able to use my film cameras without a flash and I'm not a huge flash fan with film.

Also, I'm trying not to take this project too seriously, most of my favourite blogs and instagram accounts, are by people who are really good at capturing those everyday moments and I want to get better at that, rather than focusing on the quality of the photos, its the content I want, even if the highlight of my work day is a chocolate bar lol. So here are the first 10 days, I'm pretty impressed that I've managed it so far and I'm even in half of them in some way too.

1. A winter walk on New Years Day before a pub lunch.
2. A GIANT Reese's Peanut Butter cup from my Uncle's visit to NYC, I didn't even know they made him so big! We cut it into 8 in the end.
3. Messing around with reflections whilst we took down the christmas decorations.
4. A glass of my favourite wine, in my PJ's. Yup.
5. New boots to go with my new skinny red cords. Now I just need to be brave enough to wear them outside haha.
6. My parents got me Tunisian crochet hooks for Christmas, which I love, so I've been practising my simple and knit stitches.
7. I've been feeling ill for a while now (turns out I have an ear AND throat infection, nice) so new favourite TV shows in bed are the way forward. (Anyone else like Once Upon a Time? I watched the whole 1st series in a week!)
8. New Kit Kat chunky's!! We tried all of the last ones that they released, so we're trying all of these too. So far the mint is my favourite, yum! The coconut wasn't as nice as I wanted though.
9. A pretty view out of my work window for once.
10. Thomas got a snuggy for Christmas as part of a secret santa and this is the first time I wore it, with a hoody too. It's cold.

Is anyone else doing a 365 project? I'd love to see how you're finding it. I'm hoping I manage to do the entire year.

Have a great weekend!
