A week of yellow...

My lovely blog friend Laura from Cardboard Cities has been hosting a week of yellow on her Instagram this week and sharing the most stunning yellow photos which I have just loved seeing (you all know that I love yellow right? I'm sure I've mentioned it before haha). 

Even though I haven't taken part with my digital photos on my phone or Instagram - I realised that I had a lot of yellow photos in my batch of films I got developed this week and today - to celebrate Laura's week of yellow - seemed like a good time to share those photos. Hurray for yellow!

*New photos - woohoo!*

I don't want to over excite people - but I've taken film photos this year AND finally had them developed. Oh yeah!  I am over excited of course and not sure where to start with posting them as I want to share them all, right now! So I'll revert back to the old plan of chronological order.

So.... first up is a visit to Beningbrough Hall we made in March with Thomas's parents. I really loved looking around the hall as not only was it gorgeous architecutre but they had paintings from the National Gallery hanging around too - so cultured! You can see an Instagram photo I took of the Royal portrait they had hanging here - such a lovely light location for such a big painting.

I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoyed taking them, I can't wait to share more!

p.s. I usually host my photos on Flickr but these are uploaded via Squarespace as Flickr have altered the HTML coding format and once again tested my patience as a loyal paying customer. If you used to like clicking through to see my photos, I will still be uploading my photos onto Flickr for the time being, but you'll have to use the Flickr link in my sidebar rather than clicking the images.  If anyone knows how to change the HTML and turn off all the 'extras' Flickr have kindly added please let me know.

Flickr Trends: Buildings

I hadn't actually had a good look at the new Flickr Camera Roll until now. I'd heard on Twitter about the automatic tagging but I hadn't browsed my photos to see what tags they'd been given under the 'Magic View' option.

Now I've had a look though I've found the trends quite interesting...  The top tag for my photos was architecture and specifically "buildings". Which seems fairly random but then I saw the 683 photos and thought 'Oh, I see...'. AND I know that I also have about 70 photos of Porto that I've categorised as 'Buildings' in a folder to upload on my USB stick I carry everywhere.

I guess I just like buildings ha. 

Have you had a look at your top automated tags on Flickr? Do you know what yours are? I'll be sharing more of mine sporadically on here at some point I'm sure!

Porto: Random photos I like

There was something really lovely about the tone of light in Porto that I think shows beautifully in all these photos - and even though there isn't really a theme to this selection of photos - they all go so well together I think. In fact they're some of my favourites from our time there - I don't know why I haven't shared them sooner.

I'm really hoping that now Summer has hit England (finally... though it will probably last a week or so - lets not get too excited ha) that I managed to capture some of that lovely light here too.
