Flickr Trends: Shore

Following on from my most popular tag on Flickr a couple of weeks ago - buildings - the second most popular is "shore" under landscapes. Now this one I totally understand as I LOVE the beach! 

I will admit, its so great to see my photos like this in collections of trends. I often forget that I've taken SO MANY photos in the last 5/6 years with film and its nice to see oldies in the mix as well as new ones.

I do want to go to the beach now though - don't you?

Flickr Trends: Buildings

I hadn't actually had a good look at the new Flickr Camera Roll until now. I'd heard on Twitter about the automatic tagging but I hadn't browsed my photos to see what tags they'd been given under the 'Magic View' option.

Now I've had a look though I've found the trends quite interesting...  The top tag for my photos was architecture and specifically "buildings". Which seems fairly random but then I saw the 683 photos and thought 'Oh, I see...'. AND I know that I also have about 70 photos of Porto that I've categorised as 'Buildings' in a folder to upload on my USB stick I carry everywhere.

I guess I just like buildings ha.

Leeds through their eyes: Chris aka I <3 Minox

It's not very often that I share others peoples photos on here, but every so often I stumble upon something so inspiring and exciting, something I just can't stop looking at, that I just have to share it on here with everyone.

So today I am featuring some of the most amazing film photos of Leeds that I've seen in a long time, taken by Chris Wrightaka I ♥ Minox on Flickr. As well as capturing the beauty of Leeds architecture, Chris also captures the people of Leeds with his Olympus OM cameras and black and white Ilford film producing stark yet emotive photos.

I love living in Leeds and I often think that I should explore the city further and take more photos. Chris's photos remind me that actually, you don't have to go far to find amazing photos, in fact they are right underneath your nose and sometimes you just need a fresh pair of eyes to remind you.

Sometimes I stumble upon photos on Flickr that truly take my breath away... and these photos by Andrew Millar taken with the newer Impossible Project films and a SX-70 have done just that.

The colours, tones, light and subject matter in these are just stunning and I always have a weakness for photos of horses and silhouettes. But it's the top right photo that's my favourite and it alone makes me want to try even harder to populate my photos and to capture the lovely little moments of interaction between people.
