an old friend and lovely light

First, I guess I should explain that the old friend I'm referring to is the camera rather than any of the subject matter in the photos - that's the lovely light. But for some reason I was drawn to take my yashica samurai with me on a trip to York last month and oh gosh, I'm so glad that I did.

According to this blog I haven't used this camera since 2014?! I'm pretty sure that was when I got massively distracted by my LC-A before I then moved onto my Canon EOS 750 ha. I'm amazed I got so distracted that I didn't pick it up once or twice though because so many of my favourite photos have been taken with my yashica samurai and as these photos show, it really does well in gorgeous light!

Do you go through camera phases too? Which camera should you really pick up again? I'm really tempted to pick up one of my other cameras again now - but which one to use next!

p.s. Film photography has really come along internet wise - the first time I googled this camera ever (2010ish), it was barely talked about but now there are loads of people talking about it and sharing photos, how exciting! I love it when a camera I like is also enjoyed by others.

Forgotten Photos: Beautiful light...

Whilst I'm away for the week with my family (eep) I'll have some scheduled 'forgotten photos' post - I always love going back through my photos for these posts and I'm always surprised of the photos that I haven't shared on here too. Enjoy!

I'm pretty sure I will never get tired of this building...

p.s. Comments are on but I may not get back to everyone until next week, I'll definitely get back to you though don't worry :)

Reetsweet at the Corn Exchange

In October I spent the day with Zoe at the Reetsweet Autumn Fair in the Corn Exchange in Leeds. As we were there all day,I took it as a opportunity to practice populating my photos and to try and document the lovely light and atmosphere that the Reetsweet fairs have.

Tomorrow the Reetsweet Christmas Fair is being held at the Corn Exchange and I'm really looking forward to wandering around and probably buying some christmas gifts too. If you live in Leeds I highly recommend a visit.

Also this weekend our christmas tree is going up and I am EXCITED. I love Christmas, woohoo! Have a great weekend :)

Waiting for the Olympic Torch...

So it has been a few months since the Olympics and since the Olympic Torch came near our house (you can see myinstagram photos of the torch here). I was a little anxious of taking photos of everyone around us whilst we waited, but I'm so glad that I did, I think these capture it pretty well.
