St Abb's Head

Our first little outing away from Berwick was only a short journey, crossing the border from England into Scotland to St Abb's Head. One of our friends used to be a keen diver, so I'd heard about how beautiful St Abb's Head was and as it is a nature reserve and a National Trust location, I was expecting it to be nice.

However I was not expecting it to be absolutely gorgeous, I think the glorious sunshine helped, but wow, what a location St Abb's Head is! It's very hilly and rocky, but the views were totally worth the sore legs and feet.

Doesn't it look gorgeous? I love the Ektar film results as well, it really brings out the blue and red tones in the photos.

Beautiful Berwick

Now that I've finally moved over to Squarespace (yeay) I can start sharing some photos from our week away in Berwick. As usual I had no idea where to start as I took a lot of photos, so I thought I'd start first with around our beautiful rented house in Berwick.

We stayed in a house called 6 Pier Maltings, which is part of a bigger development and honestly, it was absolutely perfect. The house was huge, the open plan living area was light and comfortable with stunning views across the river mouth and sea and the location, on the front of the pier, couldn't have been better. I want to go back.

If you're thinking of spending any time in Berwick with a group of people, then I would definitely recommend 6 Pier Maltings to you as we all enjoyed our stay immensely.

p.s. I'm currently tidying around my new blog home, so if any links don't work, please be patient with me, thanks :)

Berwick Polaroids

Eeee, so here we are, the first film photos from our week away. I dropped my other rolls of film into the lab today, so I should have those soonish as well, hurray!

These were taken when Thomas and I went on a little walk along the river mouth path up to the Royal Border Bridge and around the remains of the castle ruins. I've always loved the bridge in Berwick, so I'm glad I got a few more photos of it.

I always have really good intentions with my Polaroid Land camera - I take it away with me, but then I usually get only a few photos... It's pretty clumsy to carry around, so I think that is one of the reasons I only take a few photos and normally I pick other cameras before it too. I always say I should use it more when I see the results though as I usually love them, the last two of these I especially adore (these are from when the sun decided to finally come out).

I can't wait to get my other photos back already too, we went to so many different places around the Berwick area that I can't wait to show you!
