Knaresborough Details

More lovely details from Knaresborough taken with the expired ISO 800 film shared in the last post. Again I wasn’t so sure about the grain at first but it really has grown on me and I know some people really do love it. I do however love the content and the details that cuaght my eye - especially the light in the 3rd photo of the little alleyway.

Inside the Bowes Museum

If you live in the UK - you may be aware that Barnard Castle has been in the news recently due to its now unfavourable association with politicial strategists and their eyesight. What you may not know is that just five minutes down the road from Barnard Castle, is a rather stunning building called The Bowes Museum.

The Bowes Museum is a purpose built museum of art, fashion and design founded by John and Joséphine Bowes in the 1800’s filled with treasures of all kinds and I have to say that I was blown away by it. Not only was the building and the gardens stunning, but the collections themselves were also fascinating.

I used a very old 800 ISO film for these which is why they have such a delicious grain appearance. I don’t usually prefer this much grain but once I got my head round the fact that this was what the roll was going to look like, I became quite fond of the results.

The last Harewood House photos

So amazingly I think that I have shared this entire roll of photos from Harewood House here now (we won’t mention how long that took me haha) and I’m really quite delighted about that, as I think its only the 2nd time ever that this has happened. I can’t decide if this is because I have 1) improved my ratio of good photos per roll or 2) I have lowered my expectations of what a good photo actually is (ha!) - ultimately though I decided on 3) it doesnt really matter.
