Our Mini Moon - Heptonstall Part II

One of the most fascinating things at Heptonstall was the church grounds with two churches on it - one a ruin and another church still in use that was built after the original church suffered substantial damage in a gale in the 1800's. Of course with the original being a ruin we had to go look around - I do love taking photos of ruins!

I'm trying to think if we've been in a ruin that 'young' before - most of them are usually well over 200 years - whilst this one you could easily picture what it was like when it was a substantial building and being used regularly for its purpose. We definitely haven't been in church grounds with two buildings on it - that was a first and a really fascinating to see them next to each other like that.

Blossoming Gifts Review

It's not very often that I get asked to review products I actually like or that I get emails with requests that I take seriously (last week I got asked if I wanted to sell my blog?! Um, no.) so I was pleasantly surprised to get an email from Blossoming Gifts - a flower delivery company - asking me to review some flowers from their Autumn Flowers range. I love flowers and our house was unusually flower free at the time as we were just back from our mini moon so I was delighted to say yes.

The flowers arrived boxed up in a easy to carry size package - which was very helpful as I had to take it home on the train after getting them delivered to work - and they were cleverly and neatly wrapped to keep them looking great and also hydrated. I was pleased to see that there were enough to put in two vases and I took photos straight away as the roses looked lovely - I do love yellow. It took a few days for the lilies to bloom - but once they bloomed the colours were stunning.

I also had a lot of fun setting up a little photo shoot against our house, I think the colours of the roses and berries worked well against the wall and our neighbours cat also came to have a nose at what I was doing too - though I made sure he didn't get too close to the lilies.

The flowers have been in our house for a week now and sadly the roses are starting to look a little sorry, however the lilies with the berries and yellow filler ( I have no idea what it is, sorry!) still look great and they make me smile every time I walk into the kitchen, the autumn colours are just perfect.

(I got a little carried away taking photos of the yellow roses, I just love yellow!)

I never really know where to buy flowers online so I'm glad to have Blossoming Gifts as an option and as well as their seasonal range, they also have cheap flowers under £20 and a range which covers any situation. Our Mini Moon - Heptonstall Part I

As well as looking around Hebden Bridge we also visited the nearby village Heptonstall. Be warned - this cute little village is not for the faint of heart when walking - just getting there involved climbing a very steep incline - but it was totally worth it for the views across Hebden Bridge and the actual village as well. 

Our first stop after climbing our way to Heptonstall was the pub where we met a very friendly cat (though cats always look grumpy in photos it seems) and enjoyed a little rest before we continued looking around the village.

Our Mini Moon - Hebden Bridge Part II

Thomas found a little apartment just outside the town near the Craggs for us to stay in which over looked the woods along the valley and felt like something out of an Ewok forest, especially in the morning when the views were misty and just stunning.

We also had some food in Mooch Cafe which as well as being really yummy was also quite a photogenic venue which I definitely enjoyed and took advantage of haha.
