My name is Michelle and I am easily distracted...

hello everybody, i am michelle, of michelle + march, a little blog where i jot down my adventures in analogue photography. when i started my blog last year, rhianne's blog was one of the first few that i came across, bookmarked and have been reading religiously ever since! this is my first time doing a guest post and for a blog as well loved as rhianne's, i am a tad nervous!

so yes, one of my major distractions is my film cameras but today i wanted to share another photography distraction - iPhone photography apps! if i don't have a camera with me, i usually have my iphone and i use it to capture little pieces of my life. right now i have at least 10 apps on my phone but i am still constantly checking the app store for new releases.

here are my top three favourite apps!

1) cross process

cross process is a sweet and simple photo app to have on your phone! there are five filters, the red, green, blue, basic and extreme, for you to manipulate between. you can choose either one or all five to be used. the app also has the option of borders, which i think gives the pictures a more polished look. i love using the red filter to jazz up otherwise ordinary pictures.

2) pudding camera

the pudding camera app is developed by a korean company but don't be put off by the korean alphabets because this app is amazing. it's also very easy to navigate. there's 8 types of lens (including panorama, fisheye, quad and action) which will produce different sizes of pictures and 8 films (including vintage brown, monochrome, noir and vivid). it also has a little dial for you to set the exposure. the images that it produces are gorgeous!

3) shakeit

my very first camera app! i got this because i was amazed at the concept of shaking the iphone for the photo to "develop". technically you don't have to shake it but i like to do it to watch the reactions of people around me and to do it just for the sheer fun of it! this is the least complicated app, all you have to do is choose the type of frame and off you go shooting. there's a polaroid type frame, simple border or frame-less.

My name is Helen and I am easily distracted...

My name is Helen from Afeitar and I am easily distracted by cakes. I could happily spend all day browsing Tastespotting, dreaming up new cakes to make and eat at the weekend. Pies are okay, but slightly messy. Biscuits are good but can sometimes be dry. Cake, however, is PERFECT! I truly believe we were made for each other.

This chocolate cake is a favourite of mine. The texture of it is perfect.

This cake ALWAYS gets requested my family and friends. It's a beetroot cake! The beetroot is grated and the cake is slightly similar to carrot cake but about 23617 times better. The recipe can be found in this recipe book.

And of course, I couldn't leave out that old blogger favourite; the cupcake.

My favourite recipe is from the Hummingbird Bakery recipe book. The buttercream icing is to die for! Now excuse me while I wander off to get distracted by more cakes....'

It's a pleasure to be a guest blogger while Rhianne is enjoying her staycation. Rhianne and I share a love of vintage and toy cameras. I'm the girl behind two photography blogs: Diana Mini Love and Everything Reminds Me of You.

I'm not going to write about photography today.... although one teeny camera appears to have slipped in! (No idea how that happened). As well as being genuinely easily distracted, I'm also a very nostalgic and sentimental soul. In this guest post it's my pleasure to share with you some lovely objects that are inspiring me as we head into spring.

Lovely things for sentimental hearts:

1. I have a huge crush on this wonderful, yet likely completely impractical mini suitcase from Liberty. It's covered in the iconic floral 'Eloise' print.

2. I always have a few creative projects on the go. I love making things - my grandmothers taught me to knit and to sew when I was very young. At the moment I'm finishing off a scrappy quilt. I love the recycled fabric range from Worn & Washed, which come in pre-cut strips in colour co-ordinated bundles.

3. Bloggers the world over are already huge fans of shoes by Swedish Hasbeens. I love these t-bar clogs in pale leather. I'd wear them with tights until the weather warms up, and then with pretty vintage dresses all summer.

4. Tatty Devine make unique, quirky and irreverent jewellery. These tiny flower earrings are made from 1920s millinery silk.

5. Just like my photography, I like my music analogue too. I've been searching for a record player for months, and I've now got my heart set on this retro-styled one from Steepletone. Nothing beats the sound of vinyl!

6. I tend to use satchels as handbags, as they're great for carrying all my stuff plus a couple of cameras everywhere I go. I got sick of putting my handbag down all the time to take photos - a satchel is the perfect solution! All winter I've used a black leather satchel from the Cambridge Satchel Company (oh, and it has my initials embossed on it! LOVE!). For spring I'd love something lighter and brighter, like this pretty and practical canvas haversack.

7. This tortoiseshell coloured cat ring is another fabulous design from Tatty Devine. Readers of my blog will know I'm a bit of a cat lady - a badge I wear with honour! I think this is just the cutest thing ever.

8. The Diana Mini camera is a girl for all seasons - and for spring I love the white version. She's the little sister of the 60s cult camera, the Diana. She takes 35mm film and produces dreamy, retro looking pictures through her little plastic lens.

9. I discovered these handmade lip balms in vintage tins at the Bust Craftacular a couple of years ago in London. Made by Andrea Garland, they make wonderful gifts. Oh, and when you've used it up, you can have it refilled for a fraction of the price!

Hello lovies! It’s Micaela where you can usually find me on Dolce Vita.

I’m excited for Rhianne & Thomas’ getaway and thrilled to be guest posting on a blog we all adore. So what am I easily distracted by? THRIFTING.

I am the girl that could easily spend hours rummaging through bins and shelves searching for vintage anything: jewelry, home décor, fashion, postcards, records, and knick knacks. Here are a few things I found on some of my thrifting adventures:

I am a huge fan of one of a kind jewelry & find my best pieces thrifting // I also love finding the perfect frames (this was a pretty frame I found for a print I ordered off etsy for a best friend’s Christmas present)

By far, my most favorite thrifting find hands down was my wedding dress. It was EXACTLY what I hoped to wear on my magical day.

So you see, it is totally worth being easily distracted by something you love so much, as I love thrifting.
