98-102 366 Project

I'm not sure why I decided to switch to black and white film for the next film of this project but I did and I'm really pleased I shook it up a little - the colour photos felt like they were getting a little stale for me, so a change kept me inspired to keep going. AND day 100! I made 100 days haha (in fact I'm writing this on day 138 and I'm still going strong) I'm so chuffed and it is still the thing I think about most of the time, so I'm not bored of it yet woo.

Day 98 - A door handle at Cartwright Hall in Bradford. I'm so drawn to the small details at the moment, the things other people might not even see. Also the hall is lovely, you should go if you can!

Day 99 - Another after photo at a cafe. This was lunch and it was yummy!

Day 100 - CAKE! A great 100 photo I think. And another day, another cafe :) I can't complain.

Day 101 - The neighbours cat is enjoying the spring sunshine as much as I am and I'm enjoying taking his photo too. Imagine if I had my own pet, that would be my 366 project sorted haha

Day 102 - Teacups in the sunshine at Leeds Market.

94-97 366 Project

Day 95 - The carousel in Hunstanton. I took quite a few photos that day so it was hard to pick, expect a post soon ha.

Day 96 - The cutest ducklings in Thomas's parents back garden <3

Day 97 - Ok confession: I was terrified taking this photo. I am so nervous taking photos of people in case they spot me and shout. Also its film, I can't delete photos if they're unhappy and I hate the idea of risking my 366 project because of that. However, I had to take this photo, the laughter was so contagious (see the woman behind the sofa laughing as well??) and it made me so happy, I wanted that photo and I'm thrilled I got it. And laughter is a good distraction from nervous film photographers too as none of them even realised, phew!

Day 65: Salts Mill

I have definitely shared photos from Salts Mill before but I'm happy to be sharing more again as it really is such a wonderful place to visit, especially if you love art, books and cake... luckily there are three of my favourite things haha.

The real highlight for me at Salts Mill though is all the artwork by David Hockney - especially the latest exhibition The Arrival of Spring. Amazingly all of the paintings are done on an Ipad and that for me is so wonderful - art, and photography of course, is an expression through a medium and I adore that David Hockney is open minded enough and adventurous enough to try it all and somehow master them all too. I also love that even with different mediums he manages to stay true to himself. He influences his medium rather than the medium influencing him - isn't there something beautifully inspirational about that?

It's been years since I did my A level in Art but lately I started painting again and all of a sudden I want to see more art, photos, painting, sculpture... everything. I want to soak it all in - and looking at these images was no different, every stroke, every colour was a treat for the eyes and I devoured them up.

Day 65: Saltaire Church

It seems a little odd to be sharing these knowing exactly how long its been since I took them (Today is day 137!) but at the same time I'm really enjoying this day format to share photos on here. Its pretty fun I think and it allows for a bit more flexibility in subject if I do take various photos in one day - luckily I had enough photos of the church in Saltaire to have a whole post though.

I've taken photos of the outside of the church in Saltaire before but I think these might be the first from inside, it really is a lovely church I think with interesting decorative touches and like most churches - a lovely use of light to illuminate it.
