I was planning on sharing different photos first before more tiles, but I kept getting drawn back to these when going through them all. I love the blue and the white, I even bought a mini blue and white tile fridge magnet to bring home with me.

Balconies...

One of my favourite things about visiting Europe is the balconies on buildings. It's a little odd I know but I loved them in Paris too (I took as many photos of them there...) but there is something so lovely about them, I just can't help myself.

When I was writing yesterday's post to describe the trams, I couldn't quite seem to find the right words and then Polly (hi Polly!) left a comment saying they were romantic and it hit the nail on the head for me.

Porto was romantic - not in an over the top, obvious way like Paris can be sometimes, but in a charming, subtle more relaxed way where the colours brightened your day, the little details (like the mannequin and the porcelain dog above, you saw them right?) caught your eye and the people were friendly and enthusiastic. And I think these balconies capture that romantic feeling perfectly too.

Like the tiles, these are only the first batch of photos of the tram's that I took and also like the tiles, I loooved seeing these heritage trams around Porto. According to Wikiedia, there used to be over 20 lines around the city for the trams, but now there are only a few which I think is a huge shame as they look wonderful travelling around the city.

We even went on one along the river front to the beach which was so much fun but I think those photos are on an undeveloped slide film that I still have to process, bother.

Ok, lets go with Porto - I'd been umming and ahhing about where to start, but really, it had to be the tiles!

It must be the interior designer that's still left in me (there's still some there it seems haha) but I just loove all the tiles. I love the colours, the patterns, the fact that no two were really the same... in fact I think I drove Thomas a tiny bit mad because every time he turned around to find me, I was usually taking a photo of some tiles... oops.
