Along the canal

These were taken last September - and honestly, I can not wait for warmer weather and longer walks. I’ve always been quite sensitive to the cold but this winter that combined with CFS/ME led to the worst cold intolerance I’ve ever experienced. Any temperature drop and I was sluggish, unable to regulate my temperature properly and at the very worst, barely functioning at all.

Bring on the warm weather and a functioning body again!

It feels kind of strange to just be plodding along through life at the moment - everything feels paused - yet life still continues. Its all very strange. But heres a cute cow - so theres that at least.

Just a horse walking along the other side of the canal… I have no idea where it was going, but it seemed in no rush. I even managed to get a photo on my phone too and shared that on Insta. I think its contender for my favourite photo of 2020!

Wishing trees

The first time I ever saw a wishing tree was at Ingleton waterfalls - which I shared here on my blog years and year ago in 2009. I didn’t know that wishing trees were a tradition then but having had a quick Google, I now know that its thought to be from the 18th century, where people would put a coin in a tree to rid themselves of illness.

I’m totally fascinated with them and I wonder many things whilst looking at them - who put the coin there, how old is the coin, how old is the tree, how much money is in trees?! And now after my CFS diagnosis I’m also wondering how many coins I would have to put in a tree to rid myself of it haha!
