My 'Dear Photograph' fail...

Seeing the 'Dear Photograph' tumblr on so many blogs at the moment (even one of my best friends sent me the link) reminds me of my failed attempt at this kind of photograph with Thomas's family beach hut last August.

It doesn't look quite so impressive when

1. you're facing the wrong direction
2. there's a giant windbreak in the photo
3. you're holding the photo at a wonky angle...

I gave up after two attempts! haha!
Perhaps I'll try again soon...

p.s you see a better scan of the photo and more of the beach hut here. It's a bit out of date though as its been raised and now has steps again.

We like to collect things...

I often get asked what my boyfriend Thomas thinks of all my cameras around the house... and here's the great thing - he can't complain as he collects something too.
Records.
I brought Thomas a record player as a present about 5 years ago but its only recently that we've had the space to get more records and yesterday Thomas brought 4 boxes of 50 and 60's rock n roll records for a crazy bargain price.
Perhaps I have a bad influence on him...
(remember by box of cameras? Oops)
In case you were wondering, Thomas now has over 200 records... which makes my nearly 40 cameras seem quite small in comparison.
So really, people should now be asking me what I think of that :)

Harlow Carr Gardens

On Saturday we took my Grandparents on the train to Harrogate and made our way out to the RHS Harlow Carr Gardens.

Although I took my diana mini with me - it had a black and white film in it - so I'm really glad I had my new phone to play with. The colours of the flowers and trees were absolutely gorgeous, it would have been a shame not to capture them somehow.

We spent a total of four hours looking around in the end which I hadn't expected, so we didn't even get to show them Harrogate properly.

Maybe next time...

p.s. My right sidebar seems to have vanished on this computer and a couple of others, I'm trying to figure out why so apologies if you can't see anything to the right.
