Little details at Oxburgh Hall

I guess you've probably gathered from all my photos at Oxburgh Hall that I love old halls and luckily for us, there are so many around the UK. In fact, my parents gave me a book of my Grandad's that was just old halls in Yorkshire - and now I want to visit them ALL! And obviously take photos...

I've been taking Susannah Conway's Blogging from the Heart course over the last couple of weeks - more as a little reminder as to why I love blogging rather than because I need to learn much more about it - so rather than just leave you with the details here like I usually do, I'm going to say a little bit about how much I love taking photos like this.

There's something so wonderful in the act of noticing things I think - but to document it, to really look at something a bit closer through a lens - that experience is a bit more intimate and much more personal. Rather than just glimpsing, you almost create a story between yourself and the object you're taking a photo of, an attachment of sorts - so when you get that film photo back from the lab not only do you see that object in the photo, but you remember how you felt when you saw it and you feel that connection all over again.
