Eden Camp: Little Details Part 2

More Eden Camp details and I LOVE these as much as the last set I shared. They make my heart do a little skip - especially the blues in two of these photos. Aren’t they lovely colours! Oh my gosh and that sheet music. Happy sigh - just wonderful.

Is it weird to gush about your own photos?? I mean I’m still going to do it ha so I hope it isn’t weird. Just look at everything that’s going on in that last photo - the reflection of light, the old fonts on the tins, all the different shapes and lines going on behind the regimented window frame, the depth of focus… swoon. I love it. I hope you do too :)

Eden Camp: Little Details Part 1

You know I’m a sucker for the little details, those photos where you’ve seen something that someone else might have missed or worse, they’ve just totally ignored. Well Eden Camp was a amazing location for details and I’m so thrilled with these photos.

Eden Camp is a museum that used to be a World War Two prisoner of war camp - and I can honestly say that I’ve never been anywhere quite like it. As well as being so informative and having so many interesting things (and details) to see - the museum was a total sensory experience with smells and sounds, creating an immersive experience that I enjoyed far more than I expected. In fact I can’t wait to go back again as I still feel like there was more to take in.

I think that perhaps I’ve spent too much time around Building Services engineers though as I am sharing a photo of a tap here - but still, its a nice tap haha. I have more detail photos to share too - how exciting!

p.s. This isn’t a sponsored post - I just really enjoyed my visit there - I highly recommend it if you’re in the area!

Some photos... finally!

I’ve been feeling quite wordy, so thank you for indulging me in my last few posts. I’m still surprised that I had so much to say about the death of my second Grandad to die - but it felt right to share it. So I’m glad I did.

Anyway, I didn’t take that many photos in 2018, which I am sad about - but the ones I did take, I’m pretty thrilled with! Look at all these lovely details. Swoon!

Do you have a film photography aim this year? My aim for 2019 is 1 roll of film a month - that seems achievable I think. I’m already most of the way through one roll of film in a camera I received as part of the Emulsive Secret Santa this year.

Another new to me camera...

And its another Minolta - I'm becoming a fan of them! As part of the Emulsive Secret Santa last year I received the most generous gift of a Minolta X-500 camera. I'm stilled so stunned by the generosity of this gift and I eagerly shot my way through the black and white film that it came with. I'm waiting until I have at least 2 or 3 completed black and white films until I send them off to get developed, so I haven't got those images to share yet. But I do have another two rolls of colour film that I've also put through this camera developed and scanned and I'm excited to start sharing them with you now!

Urgh look at all those lovely details! I gave myself permission to only take the kind of photos I really love with this camera rather than producing quality of quantity and I think it was totally worth it. Look at the golden colours on those leaves, the peeling paint around the door handle, the daffodils in the window... be still my heart!! Oh and the lace against the flint and brick wall in the first photo...I love it!  Ignore my finger (or coat?!) in the feet shot  mind hahaha. I'm not 100% perfect it seems.

But boy is this camera a joy to use, I love the sound of it, the ease of it, the results and I'm sure I'll be carrying it around with me more often from now on.
