The green fence

Usually I walk on the other side of the road on my walk to the train station every morning and evening but this time, I walked on the side of the road with the green fence. I've shared photos of this fence before but this time I spent a bit longer looking for interesting details - there's something about the cracked paint and the juxtaposition against nature that I really love.

Just after I took these, I also saw a series by Mindy of the same fence on Instagram, isn't it a small world!

Pretty things I saw but didn't buy...

I've been trying to not as spend as much money lately - so this means, no more buying things I don't need - even if they are super lovely. So on our recent visit to the Art Cafe in Glanford, I took photos of things instead and actually, I think I might have had more fun doing that!

Although that last scarf nearly broke my resolve, look at those colours! But I'm so pleased that I managed to catch the colours here at least.

Another new to me camera...

And its another Minolta - I'm becoming a fan of them! As part of the Emulsive Secret Santa last year I received the most generous gift of a Minolta X-500 camera. I'm stilled so stunned by the generosity of this gift and I eagerly shot my way through the black and white film that it came with. I'm waiting until I have at least 2 or 3 completed black and white films until I send them off to get developed, so I haven't got those images to share yet. But I do have another two rolls of colour film that I've also put through this camera developed and scanned and I'm excited to start sharing them with you now!

Urgh look at all those lovely details! I gave myself permission to only take the kind of photos I really love with this camera rather than producing quality of quantity and I think it was totally worth it. Look at the golden colours on those leaves, the peeling paint around the door handle, the daffodils in the window... be still my heart!! Oh and the lace against the flint and brick wall in the first photo...I love it!  Ignore my finger (or coat?!) in the feet shot  mind hahaha. I'm not 100% perfect it seems.

But boy is this camera a joy to use, I love the sound of it, the ease of it, the results and I'm sure I'll be carrying it around with me more often from now on.
