These are actually a mixture of photos from Whitby, Robin’s Hood Bay and Staithes but I like them together and saying Whitby is just easier. I’m sure you’ll forgive me.
I was a little distressed when I realised that this was my last Lomo Redscale XR film and they haven’t had it on the Lomography website for a while… (don’t panic yet?) so I was conservative with this film.
I kind of wish that I hadn’t been though – I’ve never been that precious with film before and I think that in worrying about ruining it or wasting the film, I forgot to just enjoy it as much as I usually do. Luckily I did enjoy it enough to get some pretty photos though. The last one is my favourite.

It’s no secret we love afternoon tea, and we especially love Betty’s as a treat… we took Adele to the one in York, we took my grandparents to the one at Harlow Carr in Harrogate last year and last month we took our Mum’s to the Betty’s in Ilkley and it was delicious!

{Hello}
Next time we go to Betty’s I want to go for breakfast (followed by a scone of course) the menu looks delicious!

These photos were only taken half way up the moor but I definitely want to go back again one day and walk to the top properly.
I love Yorkshire!

How cute is this place? They had a wool shop too which I enjoyed looking around.
I love hidden surprises like this!

The buildings in Ilkley were some of my favourites that I’ve seen, which is why I took so many photos of them, they capture Yorkshire so well I think, especially the darker brick.

Wells House (above) was designed by Cuthbert Broderick, the man responsible from three of the most iconic buildings in Leeds, The Town Hall, The Corn Exchange and also the Leeds Museum building (which I need to photograph), so it was fun to see another building by the same architect outside of Leeds.

Wells House is now residential and I couldn’t help but admire the surrounding buildings as well and how they compared to the more dramatic architecture.
One of my favourite things about living in Yorkshire is that there is always somewhere new to visit. The same probably applies to everywhere really, but Yorkshire has really captured my heart as a place to live… Last month we took my Mum and Thomas’s Mum on a day trip to Ilkley and it was great, I didn’t expect to get many pictures if I’m honest and I took a whole roll of film! Unexpected photography days are my favourite!

{Can you spot the gramophone in the right photo? So cool!}

{Another amazing green door. Taking photos of doors is also my favourite.}

*Please excuse my indulgent post title, the film is Kodak Gold lol, thats the only tenuous link… still it made me chuckle.
(which reminds me, I need to do mine again soon right?)
I was partnered with Davideand these photos are from the roll of Agfa CT Precisa 100 (which I cross processed) that Davide originally took in Italy(!) with his LC-A+ and then I doubled with my Superheadz Wide and Slim. What do you think of our results?

Even though some of the shots aren’t lined up I still really like them. I was a bit dubious of green shades with cross processing after using the Lomography Xpro, but this Agfa film has a more turquoise shift rather than green and I love the shades of yellow it produces. I think I definitely need to buy some more of this film soon.
You can see the whole roll of photos here and also check out the film swap Flickr group here too.

I’m sorry that I ever doubted you…
You are perfect for a cold winter’s walk.
And luckily, my Superheadz loves you too!

The last time I blogged about Paris I gushed about the Lomography X-pro Chrome film because when I love something… I really love it. But when I don’t… I really don’t.
And I do not like this Lomography
X-pro film (
not to be confused with the
X-pro Chrome). In fact I’m incredibly frustrated as I really do love the composition, angle and content of these photos, yet the choice of film has really spoilt them for me. It’s taken me this long to upload them onto Flickr and on here just because of the disappointment. What do you think?
I love the cross processed distortion with the
sunset photos because the colours were rich and gorgeous, and as with the chrome, the blues and turquoises are lovely, yet the overall green/yellow tone in these seems sickly and insipid in comparison to me. I really want to like them… but I just can’t seem too.
On another note, these photos were taken at the Le Grande Arch de la Defence, which is outside the main city of Paris in the business district and it was a massive culture shock for us after spending the week in the city. It felt like we had travelled to the future haha.

I know I say that I love things a lot, but that is because I genuinely do… and I love this film
(and this camera). In fact, it sometimes makes choosing which camera and film to use quite difficult to do… but I don’t mind really.
Can you believe that I’m still uploading Paris photos? I guess I can, I did take a lot and 5 posts a week doesn’t seem that many when there is so much to share… these photos are some of my favourites from the week. My superheadz slim and wide has relatively no pressure, you don’t have to worry about focusing or the bulb setting, it takes no time to take a photo and sometimes, that is what I want and need and I love that.

I’m so glad that I tried the Lomography xpro chrome film in this camera – I expected it to look great and I wasn’t let down. The colours and contrasts are so rich, especially in the Paris sunshine…
I sure do miss the Paris sunshine.
You can see the whole film set here.

Last week was crazy busy… this morning was crazy busy.
In fact I’ve only just relaxed and finally had time to pull a blog post together.
I have so much to catch up on, argh!
I spent Saturday morning trying to relax and looking through Flickr and catching up with Photo Meditations.
and I am hooked. So far I am loving this course, I even created a
gallery of my favourite inspirations at the moment on Flickr. I’ve never used Flickr like that before, so it was very fun to do and so amazing to see photos that I really loved.
I just want to go out with my camera now… shame it’s getting dark already.
p.s. this post is a bit messy but I just wanted to get something out there,
I have no idea what else to say haha. Hi?
p.p.s. I’ve fallen in love with this photo again, I remember thinking the sky was pretty when I took it against the silhouette of the person but I actually love the dramatic lines at the bottom of the photo now too.
and I have something exciting planned for next week already,
so I think its going to be a pretty amazing few days :)

Well, I took 3 cameras with me that day, so here are the superheadz yellow peace ones too.

How amazing is that face with a wide angle lens? I love it.
I think horses are my new favourite photography subject.
I thanked them afterwards.
The weekend wasn’t my first visit to Bolton Abbey this year, last month one of my friends got married close to Bolton Abbey and on the following day a few of us went for a walk.
It was a bit of a gloomy day in comparison to last weekend but I think the photos turned out really well for it – very atmospheric, a bit like I imagine Wuthering Heights to feel…
Tina left a comment yesterday about how lucky I am to be able to visit these places and she’s right. I love how close
Kirkstall Abbey and
Bolton Abbey are to where I live… especially when I get photos like these!

p.s. I’m still loving the new layout, yeay
Now that we have a camera that Thomas enjoys using (the sony H7) we’ve been taking photos together… a bit like our
little photography date.
At the end of January we went to
Haworth - the home of the Bronte sisters – with our friends and we spotted a cat in the graveyard. So here are our two photos capturing the moment…

My favourite thing was the cat just completely ignored us all whilst we took the photos and then ran off on its little adventure, haha!
I reckon I could convince Thomas to start a diptychs project with me – what do you think??
Remember our little
photography date? Well these are some more of the photos that I took around Leeds.
I absolutely love the colours this camera produces! It captures the light so well!

Last Friday, Thomas and I went on a little date with our cameras (and each other) I had my new superheadz wide and slim… and Thomas had our Sony H7…

These were my favourite of the photos that we took together – I love how we didn’t even have the same orientation when taking them… haha!
I can’t wait for our next photography date now!
p.s. I love him…
p.p.s the diana mini giveaway is now closed, thank you everyone who took part!
Good news! We’re back in Leeds and life is returning back to nomality!
We’re both back at work tomorrow, but right now we’re enjoying our last day of holiday and fondly remembering the beach :)

Thats me on the last photo!
I’m going to try and remember this info from now on when I post photos as someone always asks :) Remind me if I forget though…
