These are actually a mixture of photos from Whitby, Robin’s Hood Bay and Staithes but I like them together and saying Whitby is just easier. I’m sure you’ll forgive me.

I was a little distressed when I realised that this was my last Lomo Redscale XR film and they haven’t had it on the Lomography website for a while… (don’t panic yet?) so I was conservative with this film.

I kind of wish that I hadn’t been though – I’ve never been that precious with film before and I think that in worrying about ruining it or wasting the film, I forgot to just enjoy it as much as I usually do. Luckily I did enjoy it enough to get some pretty photos though. The last one is my favourite.

The last of the Scarborough redscale photos…

These photos are cheering me up today as it is now under two months until our holiday in Whitby and I think Whitby is going to be the perfect location to use more of this redscale XR film in my LC-A. I’m already planning all the other films and cameras I want to take too!

So here I am.

I probably should do a post right..? Though I don’t really know what to write today, I just know I want to be here, so here I am and here are some photos. I’ve tried writing this post a number of times but it’s all been a bit too much and in the end I picked some of my recent favourite photos and went with those instead… sometimes I worry that I’m hiding behind my photos but they always seem to say so much more than I could ever write, so here I am. I think I’ve been here the whole time. Perhaps you can read them. Perhaps you can even hear me and what I’m trying to say. I like the idea that maybe you see more of me than I ever do through them.

Feeling Blue…

Last month Katie from Curating Cuteness shared some of her gorgeous redscale XR photos and I was completely smitten with the blue tones that she managed to produce.

Knowing that I could set the ISO with my LC-A, I set out determined to get similar results in Scarborough and although the blue tones are quite subtle, I’m so happy with how these photos look.

p.s. I’m not really feeling blue, I just liked it for a title :)

Redscale bunting…

There wasn’t as much bunting in Scarborough compared to Knaresborough but I still couldn’t help taking photos of it when I saw it and this redscale XR film with my LC-A is currently my most favourite thing!

I’ll apologise now if I’ve been a bit scarce in the blogging community this week – I’ve been extremely distracted creating a new home for my blog (its bigger, better and quite frankly, awesome!) which I’m hoping to share soon… mainly because I might burst with excitement if I don’t share it soon haha. Anyway, I hope all is well with you all – I’ll try and catch up soon.

 Have a great weekend!

One spot, two films…

Now that I have a working LC-A, I’ve been making up for lost time and over our holiday week I took 4 films and they all worked, woohoo!! Exciting, I know.

As I was using two different films in the same camera, I wasn’t too worried about perhaps taking the same photos twice as I knew that they wouldn’t look the same even if they were similar and now that I’m looking at the results, I’m really glad that I didn’t worry as it’s great to see the comparisons.

The first photo was taken with Lomography Redscale XR and I’m so glad that I’ve finally used that film with my LC-A, it did not disappoint and the second photo is with Lomography Tungsten film which I was also looking forward to trying out.

It doesn’t hurt that this view is one of my favourites in Scarborough but I don’t think I could pick between the two…

Paris in Film: Lomo Redscale XR

Once again I used my Lomography Redscale XR film in my superheadz camera – I love finding combinations that really work together and I was very excited about taking these two to Paris with me.My favourite thing about this film is the variety of the results and how it is a true reflection of the light around you. It varies between soft and warm when there isn’t as much light to bright and vivid when the sun is gleaming around you. As you can see, the weather on the days I used this film greatly improved, so the contrasts became much stronger.

Hurray It’s Friday!

{More Harry Love Lomowall made on Lomography}

I’m so happy it’s Friday because

~ tomorrow I get to wear a dress ~
(I actually have 3 to choose from,
I think blogging may have influenced me with dresses
it’s only taken 2 years…)

~ I get to spend time with two of my bestest friends and their other halfs ~
~ I get to eat bbq and cake ~
~ and watch other people on a trampoline ~

Eep, I can’t wait.

Happy weekend everyone!

p.s. Photos of Harry because I miss his little face and I love his little sticking out leg… is it weird to have a favourite leg on a pet? Probably…

Saltaire in Redscale

It’s official, I am completely in love with this film…

p.s. Alexander Skarsgard is in Leeds graduating today… I’m tempted to go find him… yum!

p.s.s. Just realised most of these are looking up… again. The perils of being short…

More unexpected surprises…

I still have no idea how these happen and why only with this camera but I loooove them, how gorgeous are the colours!

Perhaps it attracts ghosts??

Knaresborough Redscale Part 1

One of our favourite things about living in Leeds is that it is so close to so many other amazing places and they are so easy to get to. Whilst our Dad’s spent the day at the cricket (also close to our house) we took our Mum’s and Harry on the train to Knaresborough - a little market town just a few stops away.

I love Knaresborough, it is easily one of the prettiest places that I have ever been too, we visited last year but this time it was so much more fun with our family and cameras!

Photo02_1654APhoto03_1655APhoto04_1656APhoto05_1657APhoto07_1659APhoto08_1660APhoto09_1661A
As well as being a lovely market town Knaresborough also has ruins of a Castle where you had the most amazing view along River Nidd (hehe) to the beautiful viaduct. It was so easy to stand there and just absorb everything…

p.s. I’m still loving this film/camera combination…

The last Manchester Lomoroadshow photos…

Photo19_15Photo20_16Photo21_17Photo23_19Photo24_20Photo27_23Photo26_22Photo28_24

As well as using the borrowed LC-A, I also took my little superheadz camera with me to Manchester (the camera wasn’t Lomo but the film was, so its fine…) I am still loving the combination of camera and film together and I think it’s caught the different atmosphere that Manchester (north, gritty) has compared to Minehead (south, not so gritty – simply put lol) very well.

Happy weekend!

I’m going to a wedding tomorrow

and I have something exciting planned for next week already,
so I think its going to be a pretty amazing few days :)

Minehead Redscale photos…

As well as trying my Ricoh camera out in Minehead I also tried the Lomography XR 50-200 redscale film in my Superheadz Yellow Peace and, oh my gosh, I love these results…

Photo06_2Photo08_4Photo12_8Photo13_9Photo15_11Photo17_13Photo18_14

I think this film and camera combination might be a winner! I love how the results vary with the light and the softness of some of the tones compared to the other Lomography redscale film that I’ve used. Lovely.
