This past weekend, I finally got to take out my little Fuji Instax Mini – I’ve been trying to be conservative with my mini’s as they can be quite expensive (especially at the rate I take them, haha) but as this was a special occasion I thought it was the perfect time to use it.
A fair number of you got it right and I’m so glad about that.
This beautiful
JMK Photos is the main reason that I’ve decided to experiment more with my instax mini recently – when I first saw it I thought it was a polaroid film of some sort, its so soft and delicate yet the contrasts are strong, I loved it straight away. Imagine my surprise when I realised it was from a fuji instax camera!
The reason I had this little quiz was really a reminder to myself what great cameras and films the instax family are. They can be considered a bit of a gimmick and normally get a unjust negative comparison to polaroids but I think every camera is what you make of it and if you’re willing to experiment a bit and believe that you can produce the results you want then with effort, you can.
You can see the rest of my recent instax mini photos here…
p.s. I normally keep the frame on my instax minis when I scan them but I’m wondering if I should remove it from some, as sometimes it feels like it detracts from the beauty and the quality of the image.
Another little quiz… though unplanned this time.
Last week, whilst taking part in
Photo Meditations, I saw a photo with this camera that blew my mind. Seriously, blew it. The light was captured beautifully, the tones were so soft and the overall result was stunning. And I thought to myself… I have that camera, why haven’t I experimented with it more in varying lights…
So I did, for a week, and here are the results.. I’m completely smitten.
Which camera do you think it is?
p.s. all will be revealed tomorrow… and the mind blowing photo too :)
This weekend was amazing!!
The sun was shining, so on Saturday we went to
Meanwood Valley Urban Farm where we saw lots of adorable lambs and piglets. I love sheep and lambs are my
favourite!
Even though I did take my mini (see evidence above…) we also played with our Sony H7 and I will admit – it’s growing on me. Though the fuji mini photos are still my favourites from the day… obviously.
We also, had an amazing pub lunch, spent the evening in a beer garden with friends, gots loads of washing done (I love having a garden with a clothes line!) sat out in the garden a lot, bought the prettiest bunch of flowers ever, finally ordered some take away dumplings, caught up with last weeks TV and chilled out… amazing!
Cameras: Diana Mini (B&W), superheadz yellow peace and fuji instax mini
Film: Ilford XP2 4oo, Kodak 200 and fuji instax mini film.
Location: Liverpool, England.
Have a great weekend!
p.s. I’m still loving the new layout, yeay
and horses… and terrace houses…
p.s. I hope your Monday’s are going better than mine
… so far I’ve twisted my ankle and cried at work… sigh.
Remember that my parents went to
New York last month… well they took my fuji instax mini with them!

And my Dad took some rather lovely photos :) Hurray!!
Happy Weekend!
See you next week with something very exciting!

As well as playing with my
new superheadz camera in Wells, I got my fuji instax mini back from my parents (they took photos in New York but I left them in Norfolk, oops) HURRAY! I missed my little camera!
Even though it wasn’t the sunniest day, I always think the fuji catches the mood of everything so well.
I’m not sure if the dot on the last one is a bird or dust from the scanner, haha, so I left it – just for fun.

I will be doing a quick post tomorrow
but I wanted to spend the time to say
Merry Christmas
to you all today and wish you all happy holidays…
I hope your Christmas is everything you want!
p.s. posting may be a bit sporadic over the next two weeks but I’ll be around!
Can you believe I still have Krakow photos to share with you?
Honestly, I’m a little sad that its been well over a month since we were there… I miss it. Its nice to have photos I love from there though…

These are a mixture of photos from the trip, including a random fort we found in the middle of no where outside of the city, my favourite – the Wavel dragon – and the lovely castle.
Have a wonderful weekend!!
p.s. don’t forget about my shop and sale this weekend!!
Compared to the yashica, my poor fuji instax mini had mixed results in the Salt Mines.
Some turned out quite well…
Some not so well…
and some didn’t make it…
I definitely had fun experimenting with it though – even if its possibly the noisiest camera to carry in echoing caverns!
I’ve given my fuji to my parents for their trip to New York next month
{I’m so excited for them}
I can’t wait to see their photos.
(they read this, they have to take some now, haha)
(sorry Dad…)
Have a great weekend!
Hopefully the weather is a bit nicer where you are compared to foggy, miserable Leeds.
Everytime I go to start a post about Krakow, it nearly starts with ‘my favourite thing about…’ but really, the whole city is my favourite at the moment – and the Planty – the ‘green circle’ park gardens that surrounded the old town is another feature of the city that I particularly adored. Especially as our apartment was literally across the road from it and we walked around at least one part of it everyday, hurray!

{photos taken with my new fave – the yashica samurai and my fuji instax mini, hurray}
In fact, I think every city needs a park to encompass it so I can walk around in Autumn and admire the beautiful leaves! (Yes, I mean you Leeds!)
In other news my parents are coming to visit this weekend – finally – so I am very excited!
I hope you all have a great weekend!
p.s. my lovely blog friend Eadaoin from
City of Blackbirds featured me in her new Inspiration Secrets blog series this week – so if you’re wondering what mine are -
have a look
(and say hi to Ead, I love her!)
Walking around Krakow was honestly one of my favourite pass times whilst we were there – there was always something new to notice and I was often walking around looking up at the buildings rather than where I should have been going…

Aren’t the buildings gorgeous? Even though some were run down, it just added to their character and to the feeling of the City.
I think I want to go back…
Everytime I see any terrible news about Indonesia, Clara is the first person I think of and I know that Anna has loved ones she cares about and worries about too, so if you are interested in gaining a new camera and helping a great cause, please have a look.
The first highlight of Krakow that we really explored was the main square in the Old Town.

It was such a pleasure walking around the square, taking in the atmosphere and enjoying the people watching – there was always something going on.
{Photos taken with my fuji instax mini and my new favourite – the Yashica Samurai}
With so many photos to share with you, I didn’t really know where to start with blogging about Krakow, but I decided to start where we started – the apartment!
Finding this apartment was the best thing that happened to us for this holiday – it was cheap, massive and so central to Krakow – situated bang in the middle of the Old Town and Kazimierz – the Jewish area of the city. It was the perfect mixture of old character with modern features and despite the 6 flights of stairs to get to our floor, it was the perfect base to start and return to every day.
Our street and building – the only pink building on the road.

The living room…
Kitchen…
Bathroom…
Our bedroom…
The apartment was full of lovely features like vintage suitcases and amazing chandeliers which completely enhanced our stay there!
My favouite part though was the guest book that all the previous guests had written in with suggestions for restaurants, bars, days out, which buses to catch etc… a wonderful read for when you have no idea where to start!
If anyone is interested in staying in Krakow and looking into this apartment (its not ours, we rented it, I can send you the link) then drop me an email!
*Warning – this post contains some rubbish phone pictures but it was so fun I’m posting them anyway!*
On the Sunday morning of our
BBQ we ventured into Leeds for
Heritage day - as part of the day certain buildings were opened up in the city to look around for free and the
Town Hall was one of them.
Although my phone didn’t work particularly well inside, I did get some lovely fuji’s of the outside.
As well as the main hall we also looked around the old court rooms where Thomas got to be the Judge… unfortunately I was to be sent to the cells below!
August bank holidays in Norfolk are quickly becoming my favourite weekends!!
We were completely spoiled over the 4 days by our friends and family
(honestly, we have the most amazing friends and family, I love it!)
I fall a little bit more in love with it… its just so cute!

Unfortunately the batteries were dead on Friday but after a quick rescue (thanks K!) we were back in action for our day on the broads on Saturday and it was perfect! I can’t believe that after living so many years in Norfolk that I haven’t done it sooner!

We went to Cromer on Sunday for the morning – don’t let these pcitures fool you – it was cold, wet and windy for some of it! Worth it though – I always love Cromer!
(I feel I should point out the wind blew my hoody into the foot photo, my belly isn’t that huge lol)
Our final day was spent in Norwich with a quick visit to Elm Hill (I love) and some rather amazing mexican food before our train home. Once again the wind wasn’t on my side for a feet photo – the bottom part is my scarf blowing into the photo!
I’m picking up two rolls of film tonight, so hopefully I should have even more photos to share with you tomorrow, hurray! I can’t wait!
Whilst I have all of these cameras (and I love them all), I wouldn’t be able to produce these myself and I love that each set shows the photographer’s individuality and flare in spite of the location and the cameras they have used…
Who really wants to go to Paris now? I do!
Such gorgeous photos!!
p.s. I would obviously take as many cameras as I could carry lol, Poland is going to be fun camera wise!
Work is rubbish. Wisdom teeth are rubbish… and so are antibiotics.
(they really taste bad, ick)
However, fuji’s to remind you of a lovely weekend are good…

…which is good.
On Saturday we went to
Malham, the weather was gorgeous, we took a picnic, sat by waterfalls and everything was good.
Until my fuji instax didn’t work – cue complete panic…
After opening the back of the film I realised that one of the photos had a small nick in it (can you see in on the top left?) which meant the photo couldn’t pass through the rollers, so I had to pull it through resulting in the yellow fuji. The other photo didn’t even make it through the rollers (I don’t remember why) but I did have fun pushing the chemicals up and around the photo – you can even make out a partial thumb print on it – how cool is that?!
As a result the next two pictures came out with light exposure on them, however you can still make out the pretty waterfall.
In fact I kind of like them…
I really love the two that turned out properly though – especially my little holga – I put her down for a second and though she looked so lovely that I had to take a photo!
I was about to panic and say I didn’t have anything for day 3 but then I remembered how many fuji pictures I took during our weekend away with our parents and that I still had some more to post. (phew and hurray!)
{Flamborough Lighthouse}
{the beautiful white cliffs}
{Flamborough beacon}
I love finding beacons!
After going to
Bempton Cliff’s on the Sunday, we then followed the coast line and went to
Flamborough Head where we had a delicious tuna melt for lunch and I saw my first
puggle.
(I’ll let you guess which one I was most excited about…)
p.s. Is polaroid week making anyone else want more and more different types of instant cameras and films…? Disaster!

Photos taken whilst walking to work…
I’ve been wanting to take a photo of the magnolia tree for ages! Hurray!
Isn’t it funny how you can go to a family wedding and be completely calm yet when its one of your best friends weddings you pretty much cry through out the whole thing!

I honestly can’t think of a time when I saw the bride and groom look as happy as they did on Saturday and their happiness truly makes me happy as well…
Hurray for love!
It’s no secret that Thomas and I loooove Scarborough and we both were looking forward to going back and sharing our favourite places with our parents.
(For me it was the beach and the spa, for Thomas the amazing market vaults in town…)
Scarborough also has some great charity shops and I managed to pick up two more cameras for hardly any money – a cute kodak instamatic and a panorama wide pix 35mm camera. Needless to say I started using the second straight away and I can’t wait to pick up the film from it on Friday!!
I think my fuji instax loved Scarborough too!
For more Scarborough photos click

here…
{We really love Scarborough!}
Having lived in Yorkshire for almost 4 years now I am slightly ashamed to admit that before Friday we had never been to Bridlington (or just Brid) and now that we finally have, I just want to go back again!
Aren’t these the cutest doors?
A few fuji instax mini’s, I love them both!
I’m not sure what happened here…
We only had a couple of hours before we needed to get to the caravan so we spent an hour looking around the Old Town and
Priory, before getting the most amazing sandwiches from a local bakery and taking them down to the seafront to eat. (Food not pictured as it was very quickly devoured…)
We even managed a walk along the promenade, an ice cream and of course, a photo of our feet on the beach :)
p.s. can you just see my yashica autofocus in the bottom photo? I just dropped off 4 films to be processed so hopefully I should have more Brid photo next week, hurray!
I sometimes forget how different things are for children now compared to when I was little… and also how exciting it used to be discovering something new and truly believing it was magic.
My youngest cousin has never heard of polaroid or instant cameras before and watching her little face and my other cousins faces as they watched a photo develop before their eyes was so much fun!
Of course she then insisted on taking a photo…
(I finally got one of me and Boyfriend, huzzah!
Cute little girls are much better bullies than me!)
…and then having her photo taken as well.
The frog is her school mascot, Spike!
I love…

…parcels from amazing bloggers/friends…
(I will post about these eventually, promise.)
…phone calls with my Mum…
…lying in on Sunday mornings…
…summer shoes…
…floral print tops with cardis…
…jeans that used to be too small now being too big…
…lighter evenings…
…talking about future cats and puppies…
Most of the time we spent in Edinburgh we were walking.
There was just so much to see!

The highlights for me were Greyfriar’s Bobby and that rather amazing piece of carrot cake and hot chocolate, yum!
p.s. I have no idea what the yellow stain is on the second photo… it developed along with the image – I love instant photography!
It is miserable and wet outside here in Leeds (which isn’t really a surprise) so I thought I would cheer myself up with some of my favourite things from last weekend!
This little pup… I love how his little leg sticks out!
and incidently my pj’s and yellow cardigan I am wearing in that photo as well.
oh and the glimpse of my Mum’s knee at the bottom…
Watching fuji instax film develop, its far too much fun!
Funky wellies!
Deedee, my diana mini and an amazing charity shop bag
(it fits two cameras and my massive purse, huzzah!)
I’m also loving:

Is it bad that my feet are in nearly of all the photos..?
Have a great weekend!
So you know that I completely adore Nicole from
My Teacups in Peony (you read the
interview right!) and I honestly think she is after my blogging heart
.
Luckily I took a great feet photo with my fuji instax on the beach so I have one to share today, yeay!
Don’t you love how you can see my Diana mini there as well? And the wellies have daisies on them – I loved them!
I am definitely going to be doing this every week!
p.s. I really love my fuji instax mini – 100 photos is not enough, I’m going to need more!
…so I put my heart in the snow and took a photo with my fuji instax mini – I’m so happy with how it turned out, especially as it is nothing like I expected – I have no idea why its got that purple tint to it but I think it looks perfect!
I can’t wait to see everyone elses photos from this project!
The best thing about Christmas is asking for presents you know that you wouldn’t really want to spend the money on (what with being careful with money and all) so I asked for the Fuji Instax Mini and my parents got me one, yeay!

I love love love it, the pictures turn out really well
(though I did mess up the settings on a couple of these, I hope you can’t tell…) and they make fantastic presents, I gave the other half of the photos that I took away – one to my Nanna and the rest to friends.
And the best bit? I still have 90 photos left to take! Yeay!!!!
p.s. Check out Molly’s amazing post on Diamond in the Rough – I was a bit late posting it, oops!
p.p.s. Kate is having a
giveaway of her happy is the new black cards, they are amazing!
